PRIDE IN SECRET

*️⃣ After serving in God’s work for many years, I took time to reflect on my personal life, observe others, and study the Scriptures. I discovered one major thing that God strongly hates: *pride. 👇

You who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
— 1 Peter 5:5

But He gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
— James 4:6

▶️ Pride manifests in two ways:

  1. Obvious pride, which is easily noticed and expressed.
  2. Hidden pride, which remains unspoken and concealed.

Allow me to write this with a broken heart. 👇

❌ The Bible confirms that God opposes the proud (James 4:6). This is one of the verses that I fear the most.

Imagine being a servant of God, yet it is God Himself who stands against you—not Satan! If God is fighting you, who will fight for you?

🕹️ Listen, no matter what you are doing, it will not progress if you have reached a point where God Himself is against you. And if anyone supports you, they too will suffer the consequences. 😭

🛑 THE WORST FORM OF PRIDE IS WHEN YOU ARE PROUD BUT DON’T EVEN REALIZE IT.

🟰 Hidden pride is when you step up to preach, not to glorify God, but to impress others with your “greatness.” (You are in danger!)

🟰 Hidden pride is when you cannot speak well of others because you feel it might diminish your own worth.

🟰 Hidden pride is when you see humble people showing you respect, and instead of appreciating their humility, you believe you are superior to them.

🟰 Hidden pride is when you receive correction but feel offended inside, even though you pretend to accept it.

🟰 Hidden pride is when someone under your leadership teaches something that blesses you, yet you refuse to acknowledge it because you don’t want to admit you’ve learned something new.

🟰 Hidden pride is when people praise you for how God is using you, and though you say, “All glory to God,” deep inside, you take the credit for yourself. 😭

🟰 Hidden pride is when you visit another church, and if they don’t acknowledge your presence or give you a front seat, you feel disrespected.

🟰 Hidden pride is when you no longer allow the Holy Spirit to correct you.

🟰 Hidden pride is when you get so used to hearing God’s voice and receiving visions that you start believing you are extraordinary, instead of humbly sharing what God has revealed.

🟰 Hidden pride is when someone else is ministering, and you never say “Amen” or raise your hands in worship—simply because it’s not you leading.

🟰 Even reading this message and feeling defensive inside is a sign of hidden pride.

🟰 If you find yourself enjoying praise too much, know that you are starting to fight against God.

If you want to go far, *break the spirit of pride. Ask God to break your heart and humble you. *You do not want to become God’s enemy—your life would be ruined. Just think of King Nebuchadnezzar (Nebukadnezar).

When God uses you, never take the credit—it is purely by His grace!
